  • Benefits include lower rates of postpartum mood disorders, enhanced parental confidence, better physical recovery, help with household management, & being held & witnessed during this sacred time of transition.

  • Traditional postpartum care is mother-centered & focuses on the core pillars of rest, warm/nourishing foods, healing touch, warmth & community.

Depending on what is needed, care could look like: drawing an herbal bath &/or sitz bath, bringing you a cup of herbal tea & a snack /meal, meal planning suggestions, watching baby while you take a nap or take some time for self-care, an herbal infused massage, abdominal moxabustion, belly wrapping, light household chores, birth story sharing, providing local resources, steady presence of a compassionate open-minded witness to your sacred rite of passage, etc.

  • The sooner the better. Ideally I would work with you as your birth doula so I could offer immediate postpartum support. Otherwise I would recommend starting no later than the first week to help set you up for a restorative postpartum.
